By Dave Smith June 20, 2009
Stockport are the 2009 winners of the PFA-sponsored Bobby Moore Fair Play Award – and they can add £15,000 to the club’s coffers.
"This award is presented to the team with the best disciplinary record throughout the Premier League and the three divisions of the Football League,” explained PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor.
"We will be pleased to make a donation of £7,500 for the benefit of the players, management and coaching staff and £7,500 for the benefit of the club’s community programme together with a presentation of a trophy.
“We are delighted to announce this award, especially as the club has been going through a difficult period and much of the credit for Stockport’s disciplinary record goes to Jim Gannon .
"Much of the credit must
go to Jim Gannon"
