After over ten years as a professional football player, Jim Gannon took the first steps into football coaching and management. A student of the game, Jim is one of the few lower league managers to hold a full UEFA Pro Licence.
Jim is just at home with the paperwork as he is on the training ground after successfully passing his accountancy exams whilst playing the game he loves.
Jim, or Jimbo, is also known by Stockport fans as 'The Ghost'. This is due to his knack of 'ghosting' in at the back of the box to score from crosses. He has received two distinguished honours from the club’s supporters—elected to the Stockport Hall of Fame and is Honorary Vice President of the Hatters Independent Supporters Club.
Coaching young players to reach their full potential is a professional ambition for Jim. So much so, players taken from non league sides, after being coached by Jim, are now playing with Championship clubs.
So far in his career Jim has achieved a number of milestones
